This is a famous painting by Kim Hong-do (1745 – circa 1806), a genre painter of the late Joseon Dynasty. During that time, craftsmen such as blacksmiths, potters, and painters were not highly regarded. However, Korea Goryeo Swords sent the founder's son, Moon Joon-gi (40), to study under the renowned Japanese swordsmith Matsuba Ichiro for four years to learn Japanese sword-making techniques. Combining traditional Korean methods with the latest scientific techniques learned from Polytechnic University and advanced equipment supported by the Korean government, they produce traditional Korean swords and movie/TV props.They also operate a traditional weapon museum, art gallery, library for local residents, and career experience center—all free of charge.If you are a foreign tourist, Korean expatriate, or local resident interested in touring the Korea Goryeo Swords production factory, experiencing traditional Korean sword-making techniques, or participating in a kendo demonstration, please contact us.
